Matthew Chase, 1977

Landscapes, wildlife, cityscapes; in color and black and white

Works with medium format film (Mamiya TLR) and high resolution digital (Canon 5D, IR converted 10D), primarily in color. Also uses digital techniques to enhance and alter photographs to accomplish his vision.

As early as age 10, Matthew showed an interest in photography which grew along with him. His first photography class was in high school while living in Vermont, at which time he setup his first darkroom in his bedroom closet. In college, Matthew studied commercial photography and computer graphics, with his main focus on digital imaging. His past experience includes working as a photographer / digital artist for 5 years at a large photography studio and doing freelance concert and sporting event photography, all during his 10 years in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has also traveled throughout the United States in pursuit of his favorite subjects: landscapes and nature. In 2005 Matthew relocated to Central Texas and is focusing more than ever on his passion for fine art photography. In May of 2009 Matthew opened his gallery in downtown Seguin, Texas, showcasing his photography as well as original paintings by his mother, Kristina Kelson.
